Homeopathic First Aid At Home

We have homeopathic first aid kits available at our office. These have remedies for strains and bruises, natural antiseptics, vomiting and diarrhea, tick bites, and allergic reactions. They come with a pamphlet that lists the remedies and their indications, as well as dosing instructions. This is a must have for every pet owner! We also have larger 35 remedy kits available, and “birthing” kits for breeders.

If your pet is injured, here are some things you can try at home before calling your vet. Remember, for major wounds, seek veterinary assistance immediately.

Minor cuts and abrasions:

For minor cuts and scrapes, apply pressure with a clean cloth if the wound is bleeding. If the bandage becomes soaked, just place a new one on top of the old one. Don’t remove the first one. Wash the wound with soap and water or Betadine. Soak it in 3% Hydrogen Peroxide if possible. Put some Calendula ointment on the wound after it has stopped bleeding. Repeat wash and ointment daily. If it is a puncture wound, give a dose of 30C Ledum. For pain, you can give a dose of 30C Arnica.

Bite wounds:

Remember to wear latex gloves before attending to a bite wound in case the bite came from a rabid animal. Give the animal 30C Ledum for the puncture. Treat the wound in the same manner as above but consult your veterinarian about a Rabies booster and Rabies Protocol, especially if the wound is of unknown origin.

Skin problems:

For extremely itchy skin, try a colloidal oatmeal bath, either Aveeno from a pharmacy or Epi-Soothe from us. Also try 30C Rhus Tox to calm the itch.

Ears and Eyes:

For tearing eyes or problem ears, try washing them with some green tea. Just prepare by taking 1 tea bag in 1/4 cup of  hot water seep and let cool.

If you have had a homeopathic consultation 6 months ago or more please come back or call to reevaluate the condition of your pet and his/her remedies. Call to set up an appointment or phone consultation. We can ship remedies to you for a fee starting at  $10.00.
